[Shinchonji] To the point:

Shinchonji has nothing to hide… At times, when we hesitate to answer something it is simply due to the fact that history repeats itself. We are warned in the scripture that history was given to us in order to be able to examine it and remember it as a warning and example for the day of God’s promised fulfillment (1 Corinthians 10:11). Now, how many people listened to Jesus when he was on the earth, proclaiming the truth? In contrast, how many people heard his message after the crucifixion? – hindsight is really twenty twenty! Unfortunately today there will also be a period for hindsight, but by then it is too late. We ask that people come and listen, hear the testimony being offered freely and reason with the teacher should you find a cause to do so. But instead of this happening, they hear a few hard facts and immediately draw their conclusion… this is exactly what the Jews did at the first coming.

Look at what happened 2000 years ago? Who where those who had been waiting for the promised pastor from God? Who were those that rejected him and plotted to kill him when they realized their own imperfection in the light of what he was saying (John 3, 7)? Who were the people who spat in his face, called him a sect, mocked him and murdered him?

Matthew 23: 30-32 And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ 31 So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets.32 Go ahead, then, and complete what your ancestors started!

Acts 3:12-14 When Peter saw this, he said to them: “Fellow Israelites, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?13 The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him overto be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go. 14 You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you.

James 5:6 You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing you.

It was those who claimed to truly love God, those who swore that they were God’s children and those who thought that they would never be blind to the word of God. Yet God’s fulfillment stood before them and they chose to watch him die, rather than face that they had taught thousands of people incorrectly. The people at the first coming were waiting for their own fulfillment of God’s word. If they had only wanted to hear Jesus’ testimony of how he came and fulfilled everything in the old testament, perhaps they would have had their eyes opened, to see the true miracle standing before them. Before they verified according to scripture they had already turned their backs and walked away: The sad truth is that they were waiting for Jesus, but their Jesus, not God’s Jesus… tell us, today, who are you waiting for?

Today we have received a new teaching, not one that abolishes the old promises, but one that fulfills them and in doing so makes them perfect. Would you be willing to listen?

Mark 1: 27 The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, “What is this? A new teaching—and with authority! He even gives orders to impure spirits and they obey him.”

John 6:60 On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?”
